📈

Electricity bills rise every year

India's electricity tariffs have risen ~6% annually on average. A ₹3,000 bill today becomes ₹14,000+ in 25 years. Solar locks in your energy cost at near-zero for 25 years.

🏦

Subsidised loans make it affordable

Govt. solar loans at 7% p.a., collateral-free, for up to ₹2 lakh. Combined with the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy, most families pay less in EMI than their current monthly bill.

Power cuts are costing you money

A Solaire hybrid system switches to solar + battery in under 4 milliseconds — imperceptible. No UPS, no generator, no fuel costs. Pure solar backup.

🌱

India's solar window is right now

The PM Surya Ghar scheme's ₹78,000 subsidy is time-limited and budget-capped. Panel costs have fallen 90% since 2010. Waiting means paying more for electricity AND potentially missing the subsidy.

🏠

Solar adds property value

Studies consistently show rooftop solar increases property value by 3–5%. A 3kW system is a permanent asset — it transfers with the property and generates returns long after payback.

🛡️

10-year Solaire warranty

While the industry standard is 5 years, Solaire backs every hybrid inverter system with a 10-year warranty and 24/7 after-sales support. Our dealers are trained service partners, not one-time installers.

The real cost is not going solar.

A family paying ₹3,000/month spends approx. ₹13–15 lakhs on electricity over 25 years (with 6% annual tariff escalation). A 3kW solar investment of ~₹1.6L after subsidy delivers the same energy at near-zero cost. The EMI is often less than the bill.

GOT QUESTIONS?

Everything you need to know
before going solar

How much does a 3 kW solar system cost after subsidy?+
A 3 kW on-grid system costs approximately ₹1.8 lakh gross. After the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar central subsidy, your net cost is approximately ₹1.02 lakh. A hybrid system costs ₹2.7 lakh gross and approximately ₹1.92 lakh net. Actual costs depend on your location, roof, and equipment choice — our dealers give free, no-obligation site assessments.
Will solar work during power cuts?+
Only hybrid solar systems (solar + battery) work during power cuts. On-grid systems automatically shut down during grid failure as a safety requirement. Solaire's hybrid inverters switch to battery in under 4 milliseconds — completely imperceptible. Off-grid systems are fully independent of the grid.
How long does installation take?+
The physical installation of a rooftop solar system takes 2–4 days. However, the full process including DISCOM feasibility approval, net meter application, and PM Surya Ghar registration typically takes 4–8 weeks. Solaire dealers handle all paperwork and DISCOM coordination on your behalf.
What is net metering and how does it benefit me?+
Net metering allows you to export surplus solar electricity to the grid and receive credits against your bill. If your 3 kW system generates more than you consume during the day, the excess is exported at your DISCOM's buy-back rate (₹2.50–₹3.50/unit depending on state). These credits offset your night-time grid consumption, reducing your bill further.
Am I eligible for the PM Surya Ghar subsidy?+
You are eligible if you are a residential (domestic) electricity consumer, the system is on-grid or hybrid, installed by an MNRE-registered vendor, and net metering is commissioned by your DISCOM. Commercial and industrial consumers are not eligible. The subsidy is ₹30,000/kW for the first 2 kW and ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW — maximum ₹78,000.
How much roof space do I need?+
A typical solar panel requires approximately 80–100 sq ft of shadow-free roof area per kW. A 3 kW system needs roughly 240–300 sq ft. The roof should ideally face south or west for maximum generation. Our dealers conduct a free site survey to assess your specific roof before recommending system size.
What happens to solar generation during monsoons?+
Solar panels still generate electricity on cloudy and overcast days — typically 20–40% of their peak output. Our calculator uses NREL solar resource data that accounts for regional monsoon patterns in annual averages. Kerala (4.5 sun hrs/day average) and coastal Tamil Nadu have lower generation than Rajasthan (6.0 hrs/day) — this is already factored into your personalised estimate.
Can I get a government loan for solar?+
Yes. Under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, SBI, Canara Bank, Union Bank, Bank of Baroda and other public sector banks offer collateral-free solar loans at approximately 7% p.a. for systems up to 3 kW (maximum loan ₹2 lakh) and 9.15–10.15% for larger systems (maximum ₹6 lakh). Tenure is 10 years. Apply via the JanSamarth portal (jansamarth.in). CIBIL score ≥ 680 required.

🚫 Common Solar Myths — Debunked

MYTH
"Solar doesn't work in monsoons"Solar panels generate 20–40% of peak output even on fully overcast days. Annual averages already account for monsoon seasons. Your savings estimate uses verified NREL solar data.
MYTH
"It's too expensive"After ₹78,000 subsidy and a 7% govt. loan, a 3 kW system typically costs ₹1,400–₹1,900/month in EMI — often less than your current electricity bill.
MYTH
"Cheap panels are the same quality"Cheap panels degrade at 0.7–3% per year versus 0.3–0.5% for quality panels. Over 25 years that's 20–75% less output. Warranty and service matter equally.
FACT
Solar increases property valueStudies show rooftop solar consistently adds 3–5% to property value. The system transfers with the property — buyers pay for the energy savings.
FACT
The subsidy window is time-limitedPM Surya Ghar has an annual budget cap. 30+ lakh homes have already applied. Waiting risks reduced subsidy availability or scheme revision.
FACT
EV charging is solar-readyA properly sized hybrid system can power your home and charge an EV overnight from daytime battery storage — eliminating fuel costs alongside electricity bills.
